This Day in Mets History

1991- The Mets fired Buddy Harrelson after a 6-2 loss to the Phillies.

2003- Jose Reyes hits a HR from both sides of the plate to become only the second in team history, the first being Lee Mazzilli in 1978

2008- The Mets lose to the Marlins 4-2 to end their season and to end the days of Shea Stadium. The Mets lose for the second straight year on the last day of the season in front of a sell-out crowd.
