1996- Todd Hundley hits his 41st HR of the season to pass to set a new major league record for catchers. The Mets come back to beat the Braves 6-5 in 12 innings.

1999- The Mets traded Dan Murray to the Kansas City Royals for Glendon Rusch.

2004- The Mets fired Manager Art Howe to take effect at the end of the season.

2008- With his 8th inning thievery in a 7-4 loss to the Braves at Shea Stadium, Mets' shortstop Jose Reyes becomes the first player to have four straight seasons of 50 or more stolen bases playing for a New York area team, which also includes Yankees, Dodgers, and Giants.
