This Date in Mets History

1994-Longest rain delay in baseball history as the Mets lose to the Giants 4-2 at Shea Stadium.

1996-The Mets are swept in a doubleheader by the Rockies at Coors Field by the scores 10-7 and 11-10. The doubleheader featured 59 hits including 8 HRS, off 17 pitchers

1999- The Mets get Kenny Rogers from the A's for Terrence Long and Leoner Vazquez

2000-After rejecting a trade to the Mets, Reds' All-Star shortstop Barry Larkin agrees three-year, $27 million contract extension that will keep him Cincinnati until 2003.

2001- The Mets Traded Todd Pratt to the Phillies for Gary Bennett
